In this update, we'll take a closer look at a Path of Exile 2 endgame build that's both effective and budget-friendly, focusing on a Blood Mage setup that utilises the Great Lightning Bolt without relying on the expensive Temporalis Unique.

Budget: Under a Divine, making this build accessible to those looking to tackle the endgame content without breaking the bank.Ability: Capable of clearing T15+ maps and taking on Uber or Pinnacle bosses.

No nerf: This build remains unaffected by the latest patch, maintaining its effectiveness in both maps and boss fights.

Core Mechanics

Trigger Mechanism

Greater Lightning Bolt: The primary source of damage, triggered by critical hits from skills such as Spark or Eye of Winter.Overkill Damage: Uses low-level Frost Wall to amplify damage from overkill effects, enhanced by unique items such as Killjoy Gloves for doubled overkill effects.Skill SetupSpark: Low level to ensure no direct damage, focusing solely on triggering critical hits.Frost Wall: Manually cast when the critical strike chance isn't high enough to trigger the Overkill effect automatically.Cast on Critical: Supports Frost Wall to trigger additional effects on critical hits.

Improvements and considerations

Crit Chance: Aiming for a 100% crit chance greatly increases the efficiency of the build, allowing for infinite chaining of damage effects.Temporalis: Although not used due to cost (around 200+ Divine), it would greatly increase the build's speed and effectiveness if affordable.Jewel choices:Decorate jewels: Not recommended for damage due to cost and limited stats. Better for increasing maximum Energy Shield for survivability.From Nothing Jewel: Useful for accessing key nodes such as Storm Charge or Nature, increasing both damage and defence.Passive Tree and Jewels:Focus on mana recovery on kill for sustained combat, crucial for a Mana Over Matter setup.Look for jewels that increase critical strike chance, spell damage, and elemental damage to synergize with the build mechanics.
Performance against bossesOver Bosses: The build performs impressively, especially with the chain reaction of Great Lightning Bolt and Frost Wall, which can one-shot a significant amount of boss health under optimal conditions.
